Forecast Discussion:
A broad dust storm moved through central Arizona late last night, resulting in high PM10 (dust) in Maricopa and Pinal Counties. The Miami area also saw elevated PM10 levels, but they were nowhere near as high.
Looking ahead, Arizona will be underneath an active monsoon pattern this week. Therefore, daily thunderstorm chances over southeastern Arizona, and eventually northern Arizona, will be possible. The Miami area could see additional winds and brief blowing dust the next several afternoons and/or evenings. We've bumped up hourly PM10 levels to reflect this.
Overall, at least for now, PM10 is forecast in the Good AQI category each day.
