Forecast Discussion:
Flagstaff ozone increased relative to what we've seen over the past few months, but was still quite a ways away from reaching the Good/Moderate AQI threshold.Moving ahead, a new system from the Pacific Northwest is projected to move into the Southwest U.S. by Monday. Rain/snow chances are minimal, but surface winds are expected to increase starting on Sunday and will persist out of the north at around 10-15 mph through Tuesday. Temperatures will drop a small amount on Tuesday as the cooler air moves in behind the system, but should recover quite quickly as we continue to transition out of the winter season and into Spring. With more diurnal heating and more sunlight throughout the day, ozone will begin to slowly increase throughout the month of February, and will reach near Moderate levels beginning in March. For now, ozone will remain in the Good AQI.
Have a good weekend!
