Tetrachloroethene (PCE), trichloroethene (TCE) and 1,1-dichloroethene (1,1-DCE)
From August 2019 to June 2021, ADEQ conducted a Preliminary Investigation (PI) in the vicinity of North 51st Avenue and West Camelback Road. Groundwater was investigated in the area and it was determined that PCE, TCE, and 1,1-DCE were detected at concentrations exceeding their respective Aquifer Water Quality Standards (AWQS). The maximum concentration of PCE detected was 1,730 micrograms per liter (µg/L), TCE was 1,440 µg/L, and 1,1-DCE was 626 µg/L. The source of the release(s) was not able to be determined during the PI. Based upon this data, the site was recommended for listing on the WQARF Site Registry.
ADEQ is currently in the process of conducting the Remedial Investigation.
