Why do I need an Arizona Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (AZPDES) Individual Permit?
This permit is for municipal, domestic and non-domestic (industrial) discharges of pollutants to a surface water that fits the definition of “waters of the U.S.” as described in the Clean Water Act. The permit is valid for five years. A renewal permit can be continued past five years if a renewal application is received 180 days prior to the expiration date of the permit.
