ADEQ has completed a review of the remedy implemented at the Former Capitol Castings Facility located at 5857 S. Kyrene Road in Tempe, Arizona. The site is managed under the ADEQ Voluntary Remediation Program and the remedy of groundwater monitoring with a contingency remedy of controlled migration was formally approved via the Record of Decision (ROD), signed on Oct. 19, 2016. The purpose of a ROD periodic review is to evaluate whether the remedy for the Site remains protective of public health and the environment.

Victoria Technologies, Inc. provided ADEQ with a report of the remedy status, titled 2019 (Year 3) Periodic Site Review Report, dated Nov. 5, 2019. Upon review and evaluation, ADEQ concludes the remedy continues to be protective of the remedial objectives adopted for the site. There are no environmental exposure pathways presenting an unacceptable risk, and no exposures are anticipated at this time.
