The comment period ends May 1, 2023.

ADEQ proposes to issue an AZPDES renewal permit to discharge pollutants to Waters of the United States to the following applicant, subject to certain effluent limitations and special conditions:

Facility Information

Mountain Pass Utility Company applied for a renewal AZPDES permit for the proposed discharge of up to 0.249 million gallons per day (mgd) of treated domestic wastewater from the SaddleBrooke Ranch Water Reclamation Plant (WRP) to the Big Wash – Headwaters to confluence with Cañada del Oro in the Santa Cruz River Basin in Pinal County, Arizona. The SaddleBrooke Ranch WRP is a privately owned treatment works that receives domestic wastewater from residential sources in SaddleBrooke Ranch. Following digestion, liquid sludge is transported either to the SaddleBrooke Wastewater Treatment Plant (AZPDES permit number AZ0022853) where it is treated and dewatered prior to disposal at Marana Regional Landfill in Marana, Arizona, or directly to a landfill. At the time of this permit renewal, liquid sludge is transported directly to Waste Connections of Arizona Landfill in Eloy, Arizona.
