On June 29, 2022, the public comment period begins for the proposed renewal Arizona Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (AZPDES) permit to Pima County Department of Environmental Quality for the El Camino del Cerro Water Quality Assurance Revolving Fund (WQARF) Site Groundwater Treatment System located in Tucson, Arizona.1 The comment period ends July 29, 2022.

Pima County Department of Environmental Quality, Solid Waste Division applied for a renewal AZPDES permit for the proposed discharge of up to 0.360 million gallons per day (mgd) of treated groundwater from the El Camino del Cerro WQARF Site Groundwater Treatment System to the Santa Cruz River in Pima County, Arizona. The El Camino del Cerro WQARF Site Groundwater Treatment System treats volatile organic compound (VOC) impacted groundwater that is extracted from Well CDC-PEX2 with air stripping technology. Treated effluent is discharged.
