PUBLIC NOTICE | Proposed Remedial Objectives Available for East Central Phoenix WQARF Sites

ADEQ has completed the proposed remedial objectives (RO) report for two East Central Phoenix Water Quality Assurance Revolving Fund (WQARF) sites: 32nd Street and Indian School Road, and 24th Street and Grand Canal [Arizona Administrative Code R18-16-404(C)(1)(c)]. Proposed ROs are the cleanup goals determined for a specific site. They are identified based upon information provided during the public meeting and public comment period for the draft remedial investigation (RI) report and any other information received, and consider current and reasonably foreseeable uses of land and waters of the state.

The 32nd Street and Indian School Road site is bounded approximately by Indian School Road to the north, 32nd Street to the east, Harvard Street to the south, and 16th Street to the west. The 24th Street and Grand Canal WQARF site is bounded approximately by Thomas Road to the north, 24th Street to the east, Sheridan Street to the south, and 17th Street to the west. Contaminants of concern at both sites are tetrachloroethene (PCE), trichloroethene (TCE), 1,2-Dichloroethene (1,2-DCE), and vinyl chloride.
