Notice: Pursuant to the Clean Water Act and in accordance with Arizona Administrative Code (AAC) R18-9-A907, the Director of ADEQ proposes to issue an Arizona Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (AZPDES) Permit major modification to discharge pollutants to Waters of the United States to the following applicant, subject to certain effluent limitations and special conditions:

Facility Information

Tres Rios Water Reclamation Facility (WRF)

Pima County Wastewater Reclamation Department is authorized to discharge treated domestic wastewater from the Tres Rios WRF to the Santa Cruz River in Pima County, Ariz. The Tres Rios WRF is a publicly owned treatment works that receives domestic wastewater from residential, commercial and industrial sources in the Tucson metropolitan area. On December 14, 2018, ADEQ received a request from the permittee to modify the AZPDES permit, which became effective on July 10, 2017. The modification request is to change the Ammonia Impact Ratio (AIR) limit for Daily Maximum in Table 1 to be set at a value of two (2).
