UST Service Provider Program

The Underground Storage Tank (UST) Service Provider Certification Program was established in order to ensure that work performed on UST systems is done in accordance with Arizona Revised Statutes1 and Arizona Administrative Code.2 Beginning Dec. 31, 1996, a person must be certified or supervised by a certified person in order to perform certain categories of work on an UST system.

Which tank services have certification requirements? 

The categories of certification include the areas of installation and retrofit, cathodic protection testing, interior lining, tightness testing and decommissioning.  The certification requirements do not apply to the site assessment or sampling requirements.

How can I become a certified UST Service Provider?

When applying for a category of certification, an individual must submit the following: 

  • A completed ‘Service Provider Application’
  • Two color portraits of the applicant
  • Proof of qualification for the certification category being sought (documentation required varies depending on the category of work, please see application for more details)
