Forecast Discussion:

As noted in yesterday's discussion, the upper-level trough centered over the northern plains has detached into two shortwaves. One has ejected to the east over the western Great Lakes area, and the second has migrated its way to the southwest, situated over the Four Corners.

The Four Corners system will bring moderate breezes out of the west over the next two days, with direction shifting to northwesterly at the end of the forecasting period. High temperatures will remain within the low 80s throughout the 5-day period as well, mostly influenced by the active upper-air regime and increased surface winds. Higher pressure will return next week with temperatures expected to increase into the 90s for the lower elevated areas.

As for air quality, PM10 (dust) may become elevated during the windier afternoon hours, but overall, daily levels are forecast to come in the Good AQI.

Have a happy Wednesday!
