Notice: Pursuant to the Clean Water Act and in accordance with Arizona Administrative Code (AAC) R18-9-A907, the Director of ADEQ proposes to issue an Arizona Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (AZPDES) Permit major modification to discharge pollutants to Waters of the United States to the following applicant, subject to certain effluent limitations and special conditions:

On August 31, 2018, ADEQ received a request from the City of Globe to modify an AZPDES permit, which became effective on January 26, 2016. The permit authorizes the discharge of treated domestic wastewater. The modification request is to establish acute and chronic discharge permit limitations and whole effluent toxicity (WET) testing criteria based upon intermittent discharges of the facility and include a site specific limit for copper. The AZPDES permit would be for the discharge of up to 1.2 million gallons per day (mgd) of treated domestic wastewater from the Pinal Creek WWTP into Pinal Creek in Gila County, Ariz.
