ADEQ) proposes to issue an Arizona Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (AZPDES) Permit to discharge pollutants to Waters of the United States to the following applicant, subject to certain effluent limitations and special conditions:

Facility Information

The City of Somerton applied for a renewal AZPDES permit for the proposed discharge of up to 1.8 million gallons per day (mgd) of treated domestic wastewater from the Somerton Wastewater Treatment Plant to the Yuma Water User’s Association Main Drain in the Colorado/Lower Gila River Basin in Township 10 S, Range 24 W, Section 4, in Yuma County, Arizona. The Somerton Wastewater Treatment Plant is a publicly owned treatment works that receives domestic wastewater from residential sources in Somerton. Sludge is stabilized in an aerobic digester then dewatered and sent to Ag Tech for land application.
