PUBLIC NOTICE | Highway 260 and Johnson Lane WQARF PRAP Available

ADEQ has completed the Proposed Remedial Action Plan (PRAP) for the Highway 260 and Johnson Lane Water Quality Assurance Revolving Fund (WQARF) site in Pinetop-Lakeside, Arizona. The PRAP documents the results of the remedial investigation/feasibility study (RI/FS) and identifies the proposed remedy and its estimated costs.

The Highway 260 & Johnson Lane WQARF site consists of a plume located in Pinetop-Lakeside. The plume is bounded approximately by Jackson Lane to the north, Burke Lane to the south, the western boundary of the Blue Ridge Unified School District property to the east, and Rainbow View Drive to the west. The contaminant of concern at the site is tetrachloroethene (PCE).

The proposed remedy for the site includes wellhead treatment, monitored natural attenuation, inspections and environmental sampling, with contingencies for soil vapor extraction, additional wellhead treatment, and expanded environmental sampling. The estimated cost to implement this remedy, including contingencies, is approximately $1.9 million for a period of up to 30 years.
