PUBLIC NOTICE | Cooper Road and Commerce Avenue WQARF PRAP Available

ADEQ has completed the Proposed Remedial Action Plan (PRAP) for the Cooper Road and Commerce Avenue Water Quality Assurance Revolving Fund (WQARF) site in Gilbert, Ariz. The PRAP documents the results of the remedial investigation/feasibility study (RI/FS) and identifies the proposed remedy and its estimated costs.

Information

The Cooper Road and Commerce Avenue WQARF site consists of a groundwater contaminant plume bounded approximately by West Houston Avenue to the north, West Cullumber Avenue to the south, North Golden Key Drive to the east, and North El Dorado Drive to the west. Contaminants of concern at the site are tetrachloroethene and trichloroethene.

The proposed remedy for the site includes soil vapor extraction and monitored natural attenuation, with contingencies for wellhead treatment, modified monitored natural attenuation, additional soil vapor extraction and risk assessment. The estimated cost to implement this remedy, including contingencies, is approximately $3.6 million for a period of 18 years.
