PUBLIC NOTICE | Proposed Water Quality Assurance Revolving Fund Site Listing for 51st Avenue and Camelback Road

ADEQ proposes to add 51st Avenue and Camelback Road site to the Water Quality Assurance Revolving Fund (WQARF) Registry. The site is located in the cities of Glendale and Phoenix in Maricopa County, Arizona.1

The site contains contaminated groundwater. The contaminants of concern are tetrachloroethene (PCE), trichloroethene (TCE) and 1,1-dichloroethene (1,1-DCE). Approximate site boundaries are West Bethany Home Road to the north, West Indian School Road to the south, North 43rd Avenue to the east, and North 59th Avenue to the west. The boundaries estimate the geographic extent of known contamination and may change as new information becomes available.

The site Eligibility and Evaluation score is 29 out of 120. The score is based on available information regarding the presence of hazardous substances at the site. The scoring of a site, its relative score or placement on the registry does not necessarily represent a determination that the release of a hazardous substance from the site poses a threat to public health, welfare or the environment.
