The Concrete Batch Plant General Permit allows facilities to produce concrete under air quality rules. This permit covers the following types of equipment:
- Pug mills
- Silos
- Boilers
- Internal combustion engines
- Baghouses
- Storage bins
- Storage piles
- Wash plants
- Direct-fired fuel-burning equipment (water heater)
More than one concrete batch plant may be authorized under the same permit. The Concrete Batch Plant General Permit limits the cumulative throughput to either 2,000 cubic yards per day or 500 cubic yards per day. The daily throughput limitation is dependent on configuration of the plant.
The concrete batch plants and the daily throughput limits for each scenario:
- Truck Mix without a Product Loading Baghouse
- Truck Mix with a Product Loading Baghouse
- Central Mix without a Product Loading Baghouse
- Central Mix with a Product Loading Baghouse
Permits with an authorized Truck Mix without a Product Loading Baghouse will be limited to a cumulative throughput of 500 cubic yards per day for all concrete batch plants under the same permit.
Permits with NO Truck Mix without a Product Loading Baghouse will be limited to a cumulative throughput of 2,000 cubic yards per day for all concrete batch plants under the same permit.
