On July 1, 2022, the public comment period begins for the proposal to issue an amended Master Facility Plan Approval to Huachuca City for the Huachuca City Landfill located in Cochise County, Arizona. The public comment period ends July 16, 2022.

Pursuant to Arizona Administrative Code (AAC), Title 18, Chapter 9, Article 1, ADEQ intends to issue an amended Master Facility Plan Approval to to Huachuca City for the Huachuca City Landfill. Huachuca City Landfill is located at 600 Skyline Dr., Huachuca City, Arizona 85616.
The Huachuca City Landfill is an active municipal solid waste landfill. This amendment proposes to modify the Master Facility Plan Approval No. 02011000.05 to laterally expand the Huachuca City Landfill by 22.3 acres, thereby increasing the landfill capacity by 2,474,265 cubic yards, and an estimated additional operational life of 25 years. The existing landfill plus the lateral expansion will have a disposal capacity of approximately 3,735,930 cubic yards and an operational life of approximately 37 years.
