On July 19, 2022, the public comment period begins for the proposal to issue an Arizona Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (AZPDES) Renewal Permit to Alpine Sanitary District for the Alpine Sanitary District Wastewater Treatment (WWT) Ponds located in Apache County, Arizona. The comment period ends Aug. 18, 2022.

ADEQ proposes to issue an Arizona Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (AZPDES) renewal permit to discharge pollutants to Protected Surface Waters to the following applicant, subject to certain effluent limitations and special conditions:

Alpine Sanitary District applied for a renewal AZPDES permit for the proposed discharge of up to 0.077 million gallons per day (mgd) of treated domestic wastewater from the Alpine Sanitary District WWT Ponds to the San Francisco River in the Upper Gila River Basin in Township 5 N, Range 20 E, Section 11, in Apache County, Arizona. The Alpine Sanitary District WWT Ponds is a publicly owned treatment works that receives domestic wastewater from residential, commercial, and industrial sources in Alpine, AZ.
