Facility Information
City of Yuma, Figueroa Avenue Water Pollution Control Facility (WPCF) is a publicly owned treatment works. In January 2022, ADEQ received a request from the permittee to modify the AZPDES permit, which became effective on Aug. 5, 2019. The permit authorizes the discharge domestic wastewater from residential, commercial and industrial sources in the City of Yuma. The modification request is to change requirement to construct a conveyance to carry discharge directly to the Colorado River to allowing the permittee to discharge directly into a restored wetland that connects to the Colorado River. The AZPDES permit would be for the discharge of up to 12 million gallons per day (mgd) of treated domestic wastewater from the Figueroa Avenue WPCF to the Colorado River in the Colorado / Lower Gila River Basin River Basin in Township 16 S, Range 22 E, Section 28, in Yuma County, Arizona.
