ADEQ proposes to issue an Arizona Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (AZPDES) permit to discharge pollutants to Waters of the United States to the following applicant, subject to certain effluent limitations and special conditions:

Facility Information
City of Benson applied for a renewal AZPDES permit for the proposed discharge of up to 1.2 million gallons per day (mgd) of treated domestic wastewater from the City of Benson Wastewater Treatment Plant to an unnamed wash in the San Pedro River Basin in Township 17 S, Range 20 E, Section 3, in Cochise County, Arizona. The City of Benson Wastewater Treatment Plant is a publicly owned treatment works that receives domestic wastewater from residential, commercial, and industrial sources in Benson, Arizona. Sludge is pumped to drying beds and disposed of at the Western Regional Landfill.
