Forecast Discussion:

Within the last 24-hours, nearly 0.10 of rain has fallen in the Miami area. Light precipitation will continue throughout the day today and into the evening hours. Tomorrow and Sunday appear to be our best chances for larger rainfall accumulation. Values could range between 0.25-and half an inch. Areas with higher elevation could see larger precipitation sums than this as well.

Wonder where this monsoon activity is coming from? Well, the trough that dipped down from the Pacific Northwest yesterday placed a cut-off low right over the California Baja. This is allowing moisture to be funneled up into Arizona, giving us another round of monsoon showers just before we approach the end of our "monsoon season". Aside from the potential for rain, temperatures are looking to drop into the upper 70s by Sunday! Don't get too excited as these cooler temperatures are not looking to stick around.

PM10 (dust) should remain in the Good Air Quality Index (AQI) category for this forecast period. With the recent and upcoming rainfall, grounds/soils will become saturated and leave less possibility for dust particles to be picked up by breezy conditions.

Have a great weekend!
