AZPDES Permit No. AZ0026310

Pursuant to the Clean Water Act and in accordance with Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R18-9-A907, the Director of ADEQ proposes to issue an Arizona Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (AZPDES) Permit major modification to discharge pollutants to Waters of the United States to the following applicant, subject to certain effluent limitations and special conditions:

ADEQ proposes to issue a major modification to the City of Winslow’s AZPDES permit for the discharge of up to 2.2 million gallons per day (mgd) of treated domestic wastewater from the City of Winslow Wastewater Treatment Plant to the Little Colorado River in the Little Colorado River Basin in Township 19 N, Range 16 E, Section 17, in Navajo County, Arizona. The City of Winslow Wastewater Treatment Plant is a publicly owned treatment works that receives domestic wastewater from residential and commercial in the City of Winslow. Sludge is sent to thickeners and dewatered using a mechanical belt press for landfill disposal. The AZPDES permit is being modified to correct errors in the permit that was issued on Feb. 11, 2021, to clarify the administrative record and address the expiration of the City of Winslow’s previous AZPDES permit.
