PUBLIC NOTICE | COMMENT PERIOD EXTENDED | Availability of Proposed Remedial Action Plan for the West Central Phoenix — East Grand Avenue WQARF Site

ADEQ is extending the public comment period for the Proposed Remedial Action Plan (PRAP) for the West Central Phoenix East Grand Avenue Water Quality Assurance Revolving Fund site (Site) in Phoenix, AZ, for an additional 12 days until March 22, 2021. The PRAP documents the Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Study (RI/FS) results, identifies the proposed remedy and estimates its cost.1

Site Information

The site includes a contaminated groundwater plume in Phoenix. The site is generally bound by the Salt River Project (SRP) Grand Canal to the north, West Cherry Lynn Road to the south, 29th Avenue to the east and 33rd Avenue to the west. The site contaminants of concern are tetrachloroethene (PCE), trichloroethene (TCE) and1,1-dichloroethene (1,1-DCE).

The proposed remedy for the site is monitored natural attenuation with a contingency for wellhead treatment. The estimated cost to implement the remedy at the Site is approximately $9.9 million for up to 18 years.
