PUBLIC NOTICE | Request for No Further Action Determination for Colonia Verde Shopping Center VRP Site

ADEQ has received a request for a No Further Action (NFA) determination from Westwood Financial Corp. for the Colonia Verde Shopping Center Voluntary Remediation Program (VRP) site located in Tucson, Ariz. The NFA requests closure for soil and was submitted in accordance with Arizona Revised Statutes § 49-181.

A determination of NFA means that ADEQ will not proceed with or require further remedial action at the site for the specific hazardous substances covered by the request, except in limited circumstances described in Arizona Revised Statutes (ARS) §49-287.01(G).

Site Information

The Colonia Verde Shopping Center VRP site consists of a neighborhood shopping center located at 7111-7199 Tanque Verde Road. 

Contaminants of concern at the site: tetrachloroethene (PCE) and daughter products of PCE (Trichloroethene (TCE), 1,1-Dichloroethene (1,1-DCE), cis-1,2-Dichloroethene (cis-1,2-DCE), trans-1,2-Dichloroethene (trans-1,2-DCE) and Vinyl Chloride).
