PUBLIC NOTICE | West Central Phoenix North Plume WQARF PRAP Available

ADEQ has completed the Proposed Remedial Action Plan (PRAP) for the West Central Phoenix North Plume Water Quality Assurance Revolving Fund (WQARF) site in Phoenix, Ariz.1 The PRAP documents the results of the remedial investigation/feasibility study and identifies the proposed remedy and its estimated costs.

Information

The West Central Phoenix North Plume WQARF site consists of a plume located in Phoenix, Ariz, bounded approximately by Highland Avenue to the north, Indian School Road to the south, 37th Avenue to the east, and 43rd Avenue to the west. Contaminants of concern at the site are tetrachloroethene (PCE), trichloroethene (TCE) and 1,1-dichloroethene (DCE).

The proposed remedy for the site is as follows: operation of the soil vapor extraction (SVE) system, enhanced reductive de-chloroination (ERD) injections into groundwater injection wells and monitored natural attenuation (MNA). The estimated cost to implement this remedy is approximately $6,041,600 for a period of 30 years. Previous costs accrued by ADEQ total $6,245,310.19.
