PUBLIC NOTICE | East Central Phoenix 24th Street and Grand Canal WQARF PRAP Available

ADEQ has completed the Proposed Remedial Action Plan (PRAP) for the East Central Phoenix 24th Street and Grand Canal Water Quality Assurance Revolving Fund (WQARF) site in Phoenix, Arizona. The PRAP documents the results of the remedial investigation/feasibility study (RI/FS) and identifies the proposed remedy and its estimated costs.

Information

The East Central Phoenix 24th Street and Grand Canal WQARF site consists of a plume located in Phoenix, Arizona. The plume is bounded approximately by East Pinchot Avenue to the north, East McDowell Road to the south, North 25th Street to the east, and North Edgemere Street to the west. The contaminant of concern at the site is tetrachloroethene (PCE). 

The proposed remedy for the site includes in-situ chemical oxidation (ISCO), monitored natural attenuation (MNA), inspections and environmental sampling, with contingencies for additional ISCO technology implementation, wellhead treatment, extended MNA, and soil vapor extraction. The estimated cost to implement this remedy, including contingencies, is approximately $11 million for a period of up to 10 years.
