Public Notice | Call for Comments on SFPP Silvercroft Wash Release Site VRP Site

NOTICE OF 30-DAY PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD SFPP SILVERCROFT WASH RELEASE SITE VOLUNTARY REMEDIATION PROGRAM (VRP) SITE PROPOSED REMEDIAL OBJECTIVES (RO) REPORT 

The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) has completed the proposed remedial objectives (RO) report for the SFPP Silvercroft Wash Release Voluntary Remediation Program (VRP) site in Tucson, Arizona [Arizona Administrative Code R18-16-404(C)(1)(c)]. Proposed RO are the clean-up goals determined for a specific site. They are identified based upon information provided during the public meeting and public comment period for the draft remedial investigation (RI) report and any other information received, and consider current and reasonably foreseeable uses of land and waters of the state.

Facility Location: The SFPP Silvercroft Wash Release VRP site consists of a plume located west of the I-10 Freeway, north of Grant Road, along the Silvercroft Wash in Tucson. The plume is bounded approximately by the extension of Goret Road to the north, Silverbell Tree Drive to the south, Silver Island Way to the east, and Mountain Creek Way to the west. Contaminants of concern at the site are benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX), methyl tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE), and polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs).

All written comments must be postmarked and/or received by Monday, August 22, 2016, to be considered in the final permit decision. All comment received will be compiled in a responsiveness summary to be included in the final RI Report.
