PUBLIC NOTICE | Availability of Proposed Remedial Action Plan for Stone Avenue and Grant Road WQARF Site

ADEQ has completed the proposed remedial action plan (PRAP) for the Stone Avenue and Grant Road Water Quality Assurance Revolving Fund (WQARF) site in Tucson, Arizona [Arizona Administrative Code R18-16-408(C)]. The PRAP documents the results of the remedial investigation/feasibility study (RI/FS) and identifies the proposed remedy and its estimated costs.

Information

The Stone Avenue and Grant Road WQARF site consists of two areas of soil contamination above Soil Remediation Levels (SRLs) surrounded by PCE and TCE in soil gas above US EPA Vapor Intrusion Screening Levels (VISLs) located in Tucson, Arizona. The extent of soil contamination is limited to two respective properties located near the intersection of North Stone Avenue and West Grant Road. The extent of soil-gas plume is bounded approximately to the north by West Jacinto Street, to the south by East Sahuaro Street, to the east by North Estrella Avenue and to the west by North Oracle Road. The contaminant of concern at the site is tetrachloroethene (PCE).

The proposed remedy for the site is as follows: Implementation of Soil Vapor Extraction systems at the two identified areas of soil contamination. The estimated cost to implement this remedy is approximately $2.5 million for a period of 10 years.
