ADEQ To Participate in Numerous Events Throughout State in Celebration
of Earth Day 2009
PHOENIX (April 15, 2009) - The Arizona Department of Environmental
Quality today announced plans to host and participate in numerous events
around the
state in celebration of Earth Day 2009.
Among the highlighted events will be the Valley Forward Earth Day
Luncheon at which Arizona Governor Jan Brewer will speak. The luncheon
will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 22 at the Hyatt Regency
Phoenix, 122 N. Second Street.
Gov. Brewer will be joined at the luncheon by her newly appointed
Environmental Policy Advisor, Benjamin H. Grumbles, who will transition
into the role of Director of ADEQ on June 22. Also joining the Governor
will be ADEQ Deputy Director Patrick J. Cunningham.
ADEQ staff will be present with educational activities at these April

* April 16, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.: Annual Earth Day Event, Arizona Army
National Guard, Phoenix.
* April 18, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.: Earth Day Celebration, Posse Grounds
Park, Sedona.
* April 18, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.: Earth Day Celebration, Arizona
Science Center, Phoenix.
* April 19, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.: Earth Day Party for the Planet,
Phoenix Zoo.
* April 22 (Earth Day): Walk to School for Earth Day,
Springerville.
* April 22 (Earth Day), all day: Today and Every Day environmental
event, Inter Tribal Council of Arizona, Phoenix.
* April 22 (Earth Day): 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.: Earth Day Event, Pima
Community College Northwest Campus, Tucson.
* April 25, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.: Arizona Earth Day 2009, North
