ADEQ, EPA, Tucson Airport Authority To Unveil Superfund Cleanup Facility
In Monday Dedication Ceremony

WHO: Arizona Department of Environmental Quality, U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency and Tucson Airport Authority

WHAT:  Dedication ceremony for the Three Hangars groundwater and soil
vapor treatment facility at Tucson International Airport.

WHEN: 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 5

WHERE:  Three Hangars Area, Tucson International Airport, 900 E. Susana
Street

WHY: ADEQ and EPA have reached a significant milestone by completing
construction of a $5.5 million cleanup facility for this federal
Superfund site that covers a large area of the southern part of Tucson.
It's one of the largest Superfund sites in the country and environmental
officials have been working on the project since the mid-1980s. ADEQ,
EPA and the Tucson Airport Authority have been working closely on the
effort since 2000.
