Synopsis and Discussion
High pressure will keep temperatures above normal through the weekend. Daytime highs will reach the lower 80s by Wednesday in the Phoenix forecast area under sunny skies and light winds. The stagnant conditions will allow local pollution to accumulate in the lower-lying parts of the Valley. We're already seeing some PM10 monitors closing in on the lower Moderate range of the Air Quality Index (AQI). Increased mixing heights through the week should allow some of the pollution to mix out vertically. It doesn't appear that levels will be much of an issue. With that said, people who tend to experience breathing problems due to lengthy exposure to lower levels of particulates may want to take necessary precautions this week.
Check back tomorrow for the latest. Until then, have a good day! -J.Paul
