Health message for Friday, March 11: Unusually sensitive people should
consider limiting prolonged exertion outdoors.
Health message for Saturday, March 12: Unusually sensitive people should
consider limiting prolonged exertion outdoors.
Synopsis and Discussion:
It's hard to not sound like a broken record, but at this time of year,
it is rather normal to get a strong ridge of high pressure that keeps
the weather fairly calm and persistent over an extended period of time.
That's exactly what's taking place right now. With the current ridge
overhead, we will continue to see afternoon desert temperatures in the
80s. In fact, we will have a good shot at seeing our first 90 of the
year by this time next week. Winds will generally be light across the
deserts with a few stronger breezes at times Saturday afternoon.
Air quality-wise, little change is anticipate through the weekend with
ozone flirting with the lower MODERATE range and particulates mostly
holding in the upper GOOD range of the Air Quality Index (AQI).
We'll have more for you on Sunday. Until then, have a great weekend!
