Health message for Tuesday November 09: No health impacts are expected.
Health message for Wednesday November 10: No health impacts are
expected.
Synopsis and Discussion
In the wake of an early morning dry surface frontal passage, a large and
deep trough in the mid-latitude storm track has moved over the Phoenix
metro area. Another vigorous but dry system will arrive over the Valley
from the northwest late Wednesday and Thursday. Relatively cool air
aloft and ample low-level gradients associated with these features will
minimize air mass stagnation with favorable dispersion expected thru
Thursday. A weak ridge is forecast to begin building overhead on Friday
and with some warming aloft the local air mass become somewhat more
stagnant. This should be short-lived, however, with another dry
disturbance expected during the weekend. Although there may still be
some hourly spikes in particle pollutant concentrations during the rush
hour and overnight periods, overall air quality is forecast to be the
good range of the Air Quality Index for at least the next few days.
