Synopsis and Discussion
*AN OZONE HEALTH WATCH HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR THURSDAY, MAY 20, 2010*
Temperatures are forecast to soar into the triple digits across the deserts on Thursday and Friday. Similarly, Ozone concentrations are expected to rapidly approach the health standard on Thursday. We are issuing an Ozone Health Watch with the possibility of an extension or even an elevation to a High Pollution Advisory on Friday.
A disturbance on Saturday will drop afternoon desert temperatures into the low 90s. Associated winds could gust to 25 mph at times, increasing the risk of blowing dust. Thus, "Moderate" PM10 levels are highly likely on Saturday. Ozone should be much lower on Saturday due to the winds breaking up and pushing the invisible plume to the east and northeast.
Check back tomorrow for more. Until then, have a good day! -J.Paul
