Synopsis and Discussion
High pressure will begin to take charge of Arizona's weather today, lasting through the weekend. This will keep the skies sunny, while producing relatively light surface winds and above normal temperatures during this period. A modest inversion combined with very dry soil, local earth moving and seasonal agricultural operations have resulted in an early morning particulate concentration spikes. Though PM-10 concentrations were originally forecasted to be in the "Good" range on Thursday, it's now likely that some locations may end up in the lower "Moderate" category. In fact, little change is expected weather-wise the next several days. Thus, it is reasonable to assume similar levels through Sunday. Ozone will also likely begin to inch towards the "Moderate" category Friday through Sunday with highest reading shifting from West Valley sites to monitors in the southeast part of the forecast area.

Check back tomorrow for a closer look at your weekend's weather and resulting air quality. Until then, have a good day!
