Synopsis and Discussion
A weak cut-off area of low pressure will skirt to the south of Arizona Saturday. The high clouds across much of Arizona Friday morning are a product of this disturbance. We'll see afternoon desert temperatures drop to the mid 80s Sunday and Monday, but warm back to around 90°F by Tuesday as high pressure rebounds. Models continue to go back and forth on the possibility of some moisture for our forecast area by this time next week. We'll have to keep an eye on it as any precipitation at this point would be helpful in clearing the air of the accumulating pollution.
PM-10 and PM-2.5 concentrations were again in the mid "Moderate" range on Thursday. They may drop off a bit this weekend as work-week commuter traffic takes a break. Otherwise, those levels are expected to persist much of next week, possibly approaching unhealthy levels by next Wednesday or Thursday.
Check back on Sunday for the latest. Until then, have a great weekend! -J.Paul
