Synopsis and Discussion
Not much change is expected the next several days with low pressure
continuing to spin off the coast of southern California. Afternoon
desert temperatures will remain near normal under mostly sunny skies
through the weekend. The pressure gradient between the low off
California's coast and the high situated over northern Mexico could
produce some breezy conditions across the deserts Wednesday and Thursday
afternoon. No rain is expected in the forecast area for at least the
next 7-10 days.
June 1st started out on a good note air quality-wise with all
pollutants across the Phoenix forecast area in the "Good" range, though
particulates at West 43rd came pretty close to breaching the "Moderate"
barrier on Monday. With little change in the weather the next several
days, we don't expect much change in air quality levels either. The
increased afternoon breezes may nudge a PM-10 site or two above the
"Moderate" threshold on Wednesday and Thursday. Ozone should continue
to be in the "Good" range. Check back tomorrow for any changes. Until
then, have a good day! -J.Paul
