Health message for Tuesday January 27: No health impacts are expected.

Synopsis and Discussion
A strong upper level trough in the mid-latitude storm is over the
southwest U.S. this morning and an associated dry (for the Valley)
surface cold front will move east over the local forecast area during
the early afternoon period. Gusty winds and cooling temperatures will
be the principle impacts from this system, along with excellent
dispersion. The axis of the trough is projected to be over the Valley
on Tuesday morning and in its wake, strong high pressure will begin to
build over the Great Basin. As a result, gradients and northerly winds
aloft overhead will become quite strong - 30-40 mph at the 10K' level.
Since the forecast mixing depth is near 12K', some of this momentum may
bring gusty surface winds to especially the northwest and west Valley by
the afternoon; some areas of blowing dust are possible. Otherwise,
favorable dispersion will help keep particle pollutant levels low and
air quality good thru this forecast period. -Reith
