Health message for Friday January 23: No health impacts are expected.
Synopsis and Discussion
No air pollution problems to contend with thru Friday. A weakening
eastward-moving upper level trough in the southern branch of the
mid-latitude storm track will continue to bring unsettled and wet
weather to the local forecast area. Since the cloudy and somewhat
cooler weather conditions may prompt some Valley residents to initiate
additional residential wood burning activities, the extended forecast
indicates an increase in fine particle concentrations due to the
anticipated increase in smoke emissions; otherwise, good air quality is
predicted to persist thru this forecast period. -Reith
