Synopsis and Discussion
Recent moisture in the Valley did a great job in knocking down Particulates as all monitors were in the "Good" range once again on Monday... with the exception of Queen Valley's PM-2.5. Still in the "Moderate" range, it's possible that there is an issue with Queen Valley's monitor. Otherwise, it was another great air quality day in the Valley of the Sun on Monday.

A weak ridge of high pressure just to our west will keep a trough of low pressure to the north of Arizona the next few days. Afternoon desert temperatures will remain in the upper 60s to lower 70s under mostly sunny skies and relatively light winds. By Sunday, another shot of cold air will dig south into Arizona bringing winds, clouds and possibly some more rain by next Monday and Tuesday. Additional moisture will keep PM-10 levels down. It is PM-2.5 that has a chance to increase into the "Moderate" range if evening fireplace activity increases this week, especially with relatively strong overnight inversions. As the inversions break, air quality will improve, making afternoon outdoor activities easier for those with sensitive respiratory issues.

Check back tomorrow for the latest. Until then, have a good day! -J.Paul
