Synopsis and Discussion

Another "Good" air quality day is in the books as all pollutants across the forecast area on Monday were in the "Good" range of the Air Quality Index (AQI). Looking at this morning's readings, concentrations are right on track with where they were 24 hours earlier. The weather pattern is changing, however. A much drier air mass has moved over the region as our high pressure over the Four Corners has been nudged out of position. Surface dewpoints will drop into the 40s and low 50s through the weekend, essentially slamming the door on any chance for rain during that period here in the Phoenix forecast area.

Under mostly sunny skies and very light winds the next several days, ozone concentrations are expected to increase into the low-to-mid "Moderate" range at several sites (especially the east and northeast part of the Valley). Particulates will continue to slowly increase as the ground dries out, but should remain in the "Good" category the rest of the week.
Check back on tomorrow for the latest. Until then, have a good day!
