Synopsis and Discussion
Unusual August weather pattern will continue much of this week with the
monsoon high located south or east of AZ. In addition, the mid-latitude
storm track is already anomalously active and will tend to keep synoptic
features in flux. In the short term, summer monsoon moisture is not
expected to return to the local forecast area until after mid-week.
Westerly flow aloft enhancing gusty afternoon up-valley winds will
likely be the case each day, so the potential for elevated ozone levels
will be confined to the far eastern Valley. -Reith
