Synopsis and Discussion
There's not much change expected in the weather pattern over the next
week or so. High pressure to our east will hold steady as a trough of
low pressure to our west lifts to the north and east, missing Arizona
all together. We can expect mostly sunny skies to continue through the
weekend with afternoon desert temperatures reaching the upper 90s to
around 100F. It doesn't look any like rain will fall in the Valley
during the next seven days. There's just under two weeks left in the
official Monsoon season as well as the Phoenix Ozone season. At this
point, it may be an uneventful end to both.
All local pollutants were in the "Good" range on Tuesday except for
Buckeye's PM-10 monitor which registered "Moderate" levels. This is
likely due to some outflow dust from storms that developed earlier in
the day to the southwest. Ozone is expected to return to the "Moderate"
category at several north and northeast Valley sites as the flow becomes
more southwesterly. We'll keep an eye on it all, so check back tomorrow
to see if there are any changes. Until then, have a good day! -J.Paul
