Synopsis and Discussion
The large ridge of high pressure currently situated over the western
U.S. will slowly shift to the east over the next several days. As it
does so, a trough of low pressure will move in from the Pacific,
ushering in cooler air and breezy conditions for the weekend. Until
then, highest concentrations of coarse and fine particulates will likely
remain in the low Moderate to upper Good range of the Air Quality Index
(AQI). Ozone concentrations may also creep into the low Moderate
category of the AQI today and Thursday as low level easterly flow begins
to shift out of the south and west. Check back tomorrow for more air
quality updates. -Paris
