Synopsis and Discussion
The first half of the weekend should be fairly nice weather-wise under high pressure. Afternoon desert temperatures will be right around 80°F through Sunday. Late Sunday, winds are expected to increase out of the west-southwest as another trough of low pressure crashes into Utah, increase pressure gradients over Arizona. We'll see those desert temperatures drop into the low to mid 70s once again on Monday through Wednesday, rebounding by Thursday as high pressure returns.
Stagnant conditions may develop on Monday in the wake of this next system. Moderate to strong inversions could produce a very distinct Valley Brown Cloud early next week. Combined with accumulating Valley pollution, these conditions would likely mean elevated Particulate concentrations. For now, we expected PM-10 concentrations to remain in the low to mid "Moderate" range this weekend. Check back Sunday for the latest on that possible scenario. Until then, have a great weekend! -J.Paul
