Synopsis and Discussion
*AN OZONE HEALTH WATCH HAS REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR, THURSDAY, MAY 29, 2008
and
AN OZONE HIGH POLLUTION ADVISORY HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR FRIDAY, MAY 30,
2008*
The southerly to southwesterly flow continues over Arizona, streaming
additional ozone precursors across the forecast area. The unobstructed
sun heats the Valley floor, ozone forms, and then moves from south to
north. As a result, Cave Creek, Tonto National Monument, Blue Point and
Humboldt Mountain have been seeing the highest ozone concentrations
lately. This flow will continue through at least Sunday, and with
temperatures returning to the triple digits, elevated ozone
concentrations are expected to continue through the weekend as well.
Thus, we issuing an Ozone High Pollution Advisory for Friday, and will
reevaluate tomorrow whether an extension through the weekend will be
necessary. Until then, have a good day!
