Synopsis and Discussion
Partly cloudy skies across much of Arizona are just an indicator of
what's to come this weekend. A monster of a storm has shoved into
California where the Sierras are expected to get upwards of 10 feet of
snow with wind gusts in excess of 120 mph this weekend! Starting late
Saturday afternoon and evening, showers will develop across the desert
floors of Arizona. Phoenix could see over an inch of rain from Saturday
through early Monday before the system kicks east. The White Mountains
in eastern Arizona may see an additional 1.5 to 2 feet of snow. That's
a pretty good start to 2008 for the drought-stricken southwestern U.S.
Air quality-wise, we will see all pollutants drop into the "Good" range
of the Air Quality Index (AQI) on Saturday and remain there through at
least Tuesday of next week. Check back on Sunday for the latest. Have
a great weekend! -J.Paul
