Health message for Friday, Mar 01: Unusually sensitive people should
consider reducing prolonged or heavy exertion.
Synopsis and Discussion
Not much day-to-day change in local weather conditions are expected the
next few days as a warm ridge aloft remains positioned overhead or
nearby. A strong but dry cold frontal passage is advertised to occur on
Monday; until then, above-average daytime temperatures and relatively
light winds are anticipated. Even though the Valley air mass has been
rather stagnant the past few days and will continue to be so, only
coarse particle (PM-10) pollutant concentrations have increased much so
far. Improved mixing due to afternoon temperatures near 80 degrees F
and stronger solar gain are likely to get credit for that. -Reith
