Synopsis and Discussion
A couple more disturbances will pass through Arizona the next several
days. The first will be later this evening. Clouds will continue to
thicken Wednesday afternoon with some showers possibly developing around
midnight across the deserts. Because these waves are quick-moving, any
lingering showers will taper off by about 10am and skies will begin to
clear. Another weaker system will follow in its wake late Friday into
early Saturday. Again, because these systems are moving so fast, any
accumulation of rain here in the Valley will be minimal. The increased
moisture will, however, help to lower particulate levels. Currently,
both Coarse and Fine Particulates have climbed into the "Moderate"
range. This moisture can't come soon enough! It's a good thing that
we've had the frequent-storm weather pattern that we've had this winter.
Otherwise we would have had serious dust and particulate issues. Check
back tomorrow to see how this first system is affecting the air quality
and whether or not the second one will hold together. Until then, have a
good day! -J.Paul
